Opening Prayer
Holy One, We come to you today asking for your guidance, wisdom, and support as we begin this meeting. Help us to engage in meaningful discussion; allow us to grow closer as a group and nurture the bonds of community.
1. Review of Mass for Consecrated Life- what went well. What could we improve?
Everything went well. Cafe Sunday, the flowers, the atmosphere were wonderful.
2. Speaker- Fr. Alex is confirmed for March 20- this is a Wednesday. The location is St. Charles- St. Roman’s has a lot of things going on that week.
Need to discuss prep for it.
The flyer for this event is in the works.
We discussed the idea of providing a live stream of the event. Juana will ask Fr. Alex if he approves. If so, Kayla will take care of the recording. She will check with Jenny or come to SCB on Saturday when the Mass is live streamed to learn how to do it.
Location- probably in church.
The talk will be in the church. Refreshments will be in the gathering space after the talk.
Any décor that we need? Or don’t need.
We will try to reuse the table clothes from the previous event.
Refreshments.
We will ask Deb to call bakers.
Patti will bring oranges and something else.
Judy will bring cheese and crackers.
3. The commissions in the Archdiocese list Formation as a commission. Evangelization is a subcommittee of Formation. Should we change the name of this commission to Formation. That is what we do. Some people are confused by our name.
We agreed to change the name of this group to "Formation."
4. Review of Bible Study-
There are about 12 participants in this group. They have stopped the Bible study during Lent.
5. Report of Lenten Series- just an update
There are about 14 in this group. It is going well.
6. Gifts to parishioners
The gift to parishioners of both parishes is the program FORMED.
7. Formed- new info from zoom meeting on Feb. 19
The staff of both parishes will take care of implementing the program.
We suggested that cards stating "Our gift to you...." be given out with information on how to sign up for the program.
It was also suggested that inspirational phrases be included on the cards.
It was also brought up that we need to make sure the homebound are included. The homebound of both parishes receive mailings that will include information about FORMED.
8. Getting new members. Preferably people under the age of 70. We will happily accept anyone, But we need younger blood.
Hopefully, the name change from Evangelization to Formation will bring in new members. A bulletin invitation was suggested.
It was also suggested that Juana include commission membership (all commissions) as an opportunity for Confirmation students to fulfill volunteer hours.
Our next meeting is on March 13th at 6:30 pm via Zoom.
Closing Prayer
Lord God, thank you for your abundant love and care for us. Thank you for forgiving our sins, even for the sins we do not realize we commit. Lord, please fill us with your wisdom and your compassion for others. May you bless us with your never-ending love.
