Our instructional program includes the core subjects of Religion, English, Reading, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.  The program is further enriched with classes in Spanish, Music, Art, and Physical Education.  Our religion program is further complemented with the experience and expertise of our parish priests, our parish liturgist, and the Director of Child and Youth Formation.

Physical Education

St. Roman Parish School physical education lesson plans align with the State of Wisconsin and National Physical Education Standards.  The Physical Best Fitness Program is designed to meet the National Association for Sport and Physical Education’s standards for health related fitness and is consistent with the new physical activity guidelines for youth developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

We participate in the Annual Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart Event which promotes the value of physical activity to the students while showing them they can contribute to their community’s welfare.  An all school Walkathon is held in Spring which is a two mile walk.

Art Education

A comprehensive and sequential art program following the Archdiocesan curriculum for classroom teachers of art is followed.  It integrates Catholic social teaching into the curriculum and incorporates all the elements of an art curriculum for elementary students. In addition, thanks to a generous grant from the Mary Alice Yakich Foundation, all students of the school worked on a year-long Artist-in-Residence Program in clay tile sculpting. An 8’ by 11’ tile mural designed and created by the students was dedicated in Fall 2006 and will remain a part of our school environment for years to come.

Currently, the first and second grade teachers team teach monthly art lessons to both classes.  Each month a different art concept will be featured.
