Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion

Preparation for First Communion and First Reconciliation is done on a parish-wide basis. Meaning students from both the Catholic Youth Formation and St. Roman/St. Charles Borromeo Parish Schools will come together on selected Sunday mornings to prepare for these Sacraments.  Students in second grade or above begin preparing for Reconciliation in September and will receive the Sacrament in December. In January, they will begin preparing for First Communion and will receive the sacrament in late April.  Children preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion MUST have completed their first-grade year or any year above of Religious Education before beginning preparation of the Sacraments.  Meaning this would be their second year of Religious Education when receiving First Reconciliation and First Communion; this is an Archdiocesan requirement.
