2008-2009 Fall and Winter Information
The St. Roman Athletic Association is a Parish Based organization that sponsors sports and activities for all Parish children attending the Parish School and Religious Education Program in grades Kindergarten (5 yr. old) through 8 th grade. The St Roman Athletic Association will offer the following activities for the 2008-2009 Fall and Winter seasons.
FALL SPORTS: Soccer Co-ed K5 through 8 th grade
Football Co-Ed 5 th through 8 th grade
Volleyball Girls 5 th through 8 th grade
Cheerleading Co-Ed 5 th through 8 th grade
WINTER SPORTS: Basketball Girls 5 th through 8 th grade
Basketball Boys 5 th through 8 th grade
Registration:
If you are interested in registering your child for any of the above activities for the 2008-2009 school year, please complete and return the SIGN-UP SHEET, RISK ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM, SPORTSMANSHIP PLEDGES and EMERGENCY CONSENTFORM, along with all applicable fees, to the School or Parish office prior to June 1 st 2008. There is a $10 late fee for all registrations sent after June 1 st. All families must pay athletic participation and concession fees and are subject to concession duty and uniform fees. (If unable to pay the fees at this time because of financial burden, you must contact the Parish office.)
NOTE: The PHYSICAL EXAMINATION FORM must be given to the School or Parishofficeprior to August 1 st 2008. All physicals are good for two years unless otherwise indicated by the physician.
Eligibility:
Your child must be registered with the Parish school or the Religious Education Program before your child can participate in any Athletic Association activity. Rosters are verified by both the school Principal and Religious Education director.
Regulations:
The Athletic Association is governed by rules and regulations set forth by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, St. Roman Parish/School, the leagues we participate in, and the St. Roman Athletic Association. Also note that a child cannot participate in the same sport outside of this program during the same season it is offered by the Athletic Association.
Fees:
The Athletic Association is able to offer very low activity fees due to our concessions sold during games at St. Roman and our Pizza Fundraiser. There is a Mandatory concession fee of $30 for each student to be paid with the registration fee. The $30 concession fee will be returned to all families that work their volunteer obligation during the year.
Coaching:
The Athletic Association also provides Coaching opportunities for adults. If you have knowledge in any of the above sports and are interested in getting involved in our coaching staff, coaching applications are available in the Parish office. We are always looking for more people to get involved in coaching or coordinating of sports and concessions.
Due Date:
Thank you in advance for your prompt response. We need the Registration forms and all fees into the office by June 1 st 2008. This allows us to be more prepared so that we can meet the needs of our teams by making sure we have enough coaches, equipment, and uniforms. Please note that fall sports teams are set before school begins and we cannot guarantee openings for late registrations. Practices for some sports begin prior to the school year so we need all athletes to be registered by June 1 st. After June 1 st, all registrations must be returned to the parish office.
